Our Story

Coach Bill
Coach Bill started coaching in 2015 with the Scottsdale Bobcats. After COVID hit, he decided to leave the Scottsdale delegation and start his own delegation in North Phoenix called the Phoenix Timberwolves. Coach Bill loves being with his athletes and they love being with him too. It shows when they are together. Coach Bill's main goal for the athletes is to have fun first, then to win. He relies on his assistant coaches to make that goal a reality. He coaches our team like a family, and over the last four years, we have become a pretty tight knit one...
Coach Amy
Coach Amy has been with the Timberwolves since day one. Prior to that, she helped Coach Bill behind the scenes when he was coaching at Scottsdale. For the Timberwolves, she handles everything from the paperwork to the website, all scheduling, ordering and designing all of the uniforms and merchandise, designing and making the awards for the athletes for every sport, all accounting, and is an assistant coach for all 10 sports. She also makes cookies or cupcakes for every athlete to celebrate their birthdays each year. Coach Amy also sets up all of the parties for the awards ceremonies and makes the food for each party. We are so grateful to have her with us on the Timberwolves
Coach Rick
Coach Rick started with the Timberwolves in 2022. Before Rick became a coach, he attended a state competition event. During the event, he fell in love with the athletes and loved it so much that he started coaching that same week and has been coaching with us every day since. In fact, he loves them so much that he turned his 6,000sf custom house into our first "luxury forever home" with Heeb Family Homes LLC for very special people. Coach Rick has a huge heart and does so much for all of our athletes.
Coach Denise
Coach Denise started with the Timberwolves in 2021- she has been here since day one. Denise has been a huge asset to our team. She has been an assistant coach in all 10 of our sports that the Timberwolves compete in. Coach Denise is instrumental in securing the gym and soccer field used for practices for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and soccer. She does so much for our team, and we all love her for that.
Coach Jillayne
Coach Jillayne started with the Timberwolves in 2021. She has coached for over 30 years in the Scottsdale area. She is an amazing person who has donated so many years to these amazing athletes. Coach Jillayne secures our phenomenal practice pool we use during the summer through her relationships she has made during her many years of volunteering to help at swim meets. We are very lucky to have her and all of her expertise on our team and Special Olympics of Arizona.
Coach Vern
Coach Vern has been with the Timberwolves since 2021. He started out as an aide to one of our athletes. He loved spending time with all of the athletes so much that he became certified as an assistant coach in 2023 so he could help in all 10 sports we offer. In addition, Coach Vern also helps the Timberwolves by securing donations from local businesses for the team. We appreciate everything Vern does for the Timberwolves.
Coach Chris
Coach Chris started with the Timberwolves in 2023. He is an assistant coach in track and field and swim. His son Cameron is an athlete on the team. We love having Coach Chris and his family with the Timberwolves.
Coach Steve
Coach Steve started with the Timberwolves in 2023. His brother Mike is an athlete on our team. Coach Steve is the head coach for our volleyball team. He does a great job with the team and our athletes love him.
